Because I dance doesn't mean i'm weak, nor does it mean that my 'sport' is unimportant. We sweat, and we work as hard as any athlete. Because we're dancers simply means one thing,we're tough. We work until we get it just right, and never give up. We work until our feet bleed and our muscles are sore. We work very hard at our sport to be the best we can be. We just get to dress up in pretty dresses and look better than most athletes..... because thats what Irish dancing is all about!
what do you need to do before a practise or a real thing
Like what do I personally do to get ready?
I always make sure to warm up and then stretch before a feis. I also eat a good breakfast (bagel, apples, an egg or something along those lines) and eat well throughout the day. The same applies to shows. I like to run through my steps a few times before my group is called, and also read through them a lot. I also wear my knee brace(s) the entire time I’m not onstage dancing or waiting in line to dance.
What is the best hornpipe music for a fun show? Most modern?
Sorry this is so late! Ack! Uhm, well I personally really like the hornpipes on Feisworld by Stephen Walker. I also really dig Kin’sha, so you should look into them. I’m pretty sure they have a free album on their Facebook :)
